Celebrating its 15th anniversary, Paris Deco Off played to its strengths; this year 150 Parisian textiles and wallcoverings showrooms opened their doors, revealing a valuable snapshot of key directions for 2025. Report by Marie Rouillon.
The most striking takeaway at this edition of the event was the conspicuous absence of saturated colours. Beige, brown, and all natural warm neutrals in between dominated what was on display. At each end of this warm colour spectrum, we found many examples of off-whites and deep maroons, adding clarity and richness to the palette. While this shift might have felt restrained, it wasn’t without appeal. Instead, it suggested a cautious approach, with brands seemingly unwilling to take risks, opting instead to bank on the enduring safety of timeless designs. Compared to last year’s dramatic, opulent darks and oversized florals, this season’s offerings leaned heavily into textures and tones that exuded calm and subtlety. Omexco’s Pure collection encapsulated this ethos perfectly, described as ‘Inciting us to find tranquillity, serenity and a feeling of reassurance, immersed in a sea of white.’
